New Stenton paper. For the first time, Canadians have been able to name a Franklin Expedition sailor thru DNA testing of bones. John Gregory, engineer on HMS Erebus, has been "confidently" identified as being at the famous 'Boat Place' on King William Island.
Canadian newspaper talks to the Gregory descendant, in South Africa, about learning that his DNA had identified his 3x great grandfather's skeleton: “I literally needed to hold on to my seat when I was reading.”
